Residents of Centerville, prepare to see another store on Main Street after this Saturday. Local esteemed farmer, Jack Stockton, has recently announced the opening of his new farmers market. The Stocktons have been living in Centerville for over fifteen years now, and the unfortunate destruction of their crops from a fire two years ago has troubled the family financially for a while now. Hundreds of locals are expected to attend the big day, as many of them know the family personally. Many are sympathetic for the Stocktons, as they also have multiple children and the fire's destruction of their crops meant that it became harder to feed everyone. Residents have brought food to the family's doorstep as of late, but it seems that things are finally becoming a little better for the family, and the town, as a whole.
The Stockton family was once the only source of fresh produce in this small town before the fire,
says Marcie
Dunham, a journalist for Centerville's local newspaper The Centerville Daily Gazette.
Since then, many of us have been relying on markets in neighboring areas. It's nice to know that the Stocktons
are doing well again.
Centerville's mayor had recently announced that he will be attending the event as well, and that he will formally prepare a speech for the occasion. To watch his speech and try the Stocktons' new harvest of crops that they had grown this past summer, visit 588 Main Street on Saturday, October 5th at 10:00 am. Hope to see you there!
